Guy Baldwin
Author & Psychotherapist
Los Angeles’ pioneering psychotherapist, author and activist, Guy Baldwin, has worked clinically with erotically uncommon clients for the last 30 years. He has also traveled the U.S. and Canada extensively to present a wide array of workshops and seminars to BDSM audiences and health care professionals alike.
Baldwin has delivered keynote addresses for the International Leather Leadership Conference, the International Masters and slaves Weekend, the Living in Leather convention of the National Leather Association, South Plains Leatherfest, the Austin Bash, and the Dominion Gathering, to name only a few. Although the list of his published work is a long one, he is perhaps best known for his essays in Drummer magazine, many of which can be found in his 1993 book, Ties That Bind. His most recent book, SlaveCraft, now in its fourth printing, has offered us a view into the inner dynamics of erotic servitude that has been compelling and controversial.
In 1989, judges chose Guy to serve as the second Mr. National Leather Association, and the 11th International Mr. Leather, concurrently, the only person ever to do so. Baldwin was awarded both the Pantheon and Dominion Lifetime Achievement Awards. In 2004, the Society of Janus established its Hall Of Fame – Baldwin was among the first inductees. He received the first Master/slave Heritage Award at the Master/slave Conference 2009.
In 2000, the Leather Archives and Museum identified the twenty people whose service to the Leather Community has been the most significant in the 20th Century and named each of them, Centurion – Guy Baldwin, among them.
Kinky sex has been one of Race Bannon’s passions as a practitioner, organizer, educator, commentator, activist and leader since his first explorations of the leather world starting in 1973.
Since that time Race has ardently explored his own sexuality and encouraged others to do the same. Race’s accomplishments include founder of Kink Aware Professionals, a nonprofit service that refers people to kink-sensitive psychotherapeutic, medical and legal professionals (now hosted and managed by the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom); leader of The DSM Project that led to a beneficial change in the way the psychotherapeutic profession views kink; author of the best seller Learning The Ropes: A Basic Guide to Safe and Fun SM Lovemaking; founder of Daedalus Publishing Company, the first publishing company dedicated to publishing nonfiction leather/SM/fetish books; writer of many articles on sexuality; former sex advice columnist; former producer and host of Bound To Talk, the first internet talk show about kinky sex; past Board member of NLA International, NLA Los Angeles and Avatar Club Los Angeles; and member of Chicago Hellfire Club.
In addition to his Board membership for the Leather Hall of Fame, Race is currently on the Board of Directors for Community-Academic Consortium for Research on Alternative Sexualities (www.caras.ws). He is prominently featured in the documentaries Vice and Consent and Out of the Darkness: The Reality of S&M.
Race is regularly interviewed by the press, radio and television as an expert on kinky sexuality and he has spoken to thousands of people at many speaking engagements. He was awarded the National Leather Association International's 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award and he was recently given the 2010 Mister Marcus Hernandez Lifetime Achievement Award (Man) Pantheon of Leather Community Service Award.
Race can be reached through his web site at www.bannon.com. He lives in San Francisco with his two partners.
Raven Kaldera and boy Joshua
Authors
Raven Kaldera is a queer FTM transgendered intersexual shaman. He is the author of too many books to list here, including "Dark Moon Rising: Pagan BDSM and the Ordeal Path"; “Dear Raven and Joshua: Questions and Answers About Master/Slave Relationships”; and "Double Edge: The Intersection of Transgender and BDSM". He and his slaveboy Joshua have been teaching and presenting workshops regularly for six years, bringing BDSM to the Neo-Pagan, Sex/Spirituality, transgender, and other communities.
Joshua is Raven's boy, and his devoted assistant, partner, and slave for life. He is a massage therapist and Shiatsu practitioner. He is polymorphously perverse, and finds spiritual fulfillment through any kind of worthy service.
Viola Johnson
Librarian and Historian
Viola Johnson is a leatherwoman, vampire and author who has been active in the leather BDSM scene for over three decades. A mentor and confidante to many in the fetish world, she has a special fondness for the ‘boys’ of our community, and those who choose to serve as slaves and submissives. Viola is the wife of Jill Carter, International Ms Leather 1996.
Viola had the distinction of winning the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from Pantheon of Leather and The National Leather Association, making her the only person to receive both awards in the same year. In August of 2007 she was honored with the first Lifetime Achievement Award given by Black Beat. Viola is also the recipient of the Pantheon of Leather "Woman of the Year" award The Jack Stice Award and the Slave Heart Award. Viola is the author of two books, Dhampir and To Love, To Obey, To Serve. Currently, she is working on her third book, a follow up to To Love, To Obey, To Serve.
Master Skip Chasey
Butchmanns, Inc.
Skip Chasey, a/k/a Master Skip, heads a family of spiritually grounded leatherfolk in the City of Angels, where he is a practicing spiritual director and certified Grief Recovery ™ counselor and also earns a living as a missionary among the savages of Hollywood. As an out and proud leatherman, Master Skip addressed a crowd of nearly one million people at the Millennium March on Washington, and since then he has given ten keynote addresses and presented over 200 programs on the spiritual dynamics of SM and D/s relationships at noteworthy leather events throughout the US and Canada.
From 2001-2007 Master Skip was a core instructor for the Butchmanns Experience, a periodic weekend retreat that offers opportunities for profound personal growth to leathermen and women of all sexual orientations and identities. He is a co-founder of People of Leather Among You (“PLAY”), a social and educational group for Southern California men and women interested in the integration of spirituality and leather/fetish sexuality, and for six years he was a co-producer of Southwest Leather Conference, “The Leather Family Gathering of Heart and Spirit.” Master Skip presently serves on the Theologies Team for Metropolitan Community Churches and on the board of directors for Butchmanns, Inc., a non-profit educational organization dedicated to self-actualization through the mindful use of physical practices and the conscious exchange of personal power for spiritual awareness.
Master Skip and his pup Tim are the subjects of the award-winning documentary film “Pup” and have been profiled in “Nerve.com” magazine and “Power Exchange” magazine; he and his slave Rick are two of the subjects of “Ask the Man Who Owns him”, a book about gay male Master/slave relationships that received the NLA’s 2010 non-fiction literary award. He is a past recipient of the Lee Montague Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Service from Avatar Club Los Angeles, was named “Best Trainer” at the 2002 International Puppy Contest, received the 2005 Pantheon of Leather Community Choice Award and was honored with the Master Heart Award at the 2008 Master/slave Conference.
In his own words, “Blood may be thicker than water, but leather is thicker than blood.”
slave Rick recently retired from a 30-year career with the Federal government and expanded his practice as a licensed psychotherapist within the BDSM community (KinkTherapistLosAngeles.com).
In addition to assisting his clients in achieving more satisfying lives, he seeks to raise consciousness within the therapeutic community by depathologizing BDSM in order that “vanilla” psychotherapists might more effectively work with their own kinky clients.
Aside from his work as a therapist, slave Rick is a part-time college instructor, a massage therapist and a retired Science of Mind practitioner. he has presented programs on the spiritual dynamics of M/s and D/s relationships at dozens of conferences and leather events throughout North America. In 2010, he delivered the endnote address at Southwest Leather Conference.
In 2008 slave Rick was honored to receive both the Southwest Leather Conference “Leatherman’s Heart Award” and the “slave Heart Award” from the Master/slave Conference. More recently, he was proud to participate as one of the subjects of “Ask the Man Who Owns Him”, a book on gay male M/s relationships by david stein.
First and foremost, however, he is by grace in service to his beloved Master.

Along with a lifetime interest in spirituality, theology and philosophy, which has included twenty years of practice in meditation, her journey in slavery has been her central path to the sacred.
In recent years, through the grace of her Guru, Sai Baba, she has been able to integrate her spiritual practices with her slavery and her business through a deeper appreciation of love, devotion, surrender and service and power exchange. She is a registered clinical psychologist, business woman, consultant, a self-proclaimed Jungian, corporate priestess, a spiritual seeker/teacher as well as a deep lifestyle slave.
Relocated to Southern California from Australia in October 2008 when she enrolled in a PhD in Depth Psychology, her dissertation topic is in the area of Master/slave dynamics. Since attending her first Master/slave Conference in DC in 2004, she has been an active member of the Master/slave community in the USA. In the kink community she has been invited to give workshops and keynote addresses on various aspects of Master/slave and spirituality at Southwest Leather Conference, Together In Leather, P.L.A.Y., the Master/slave Conference, the Leather Leadership Conference and Great Lakes Leather Alliance. Mistress Khiki
International Master 1999
When she was 15, Mistress Khiki found a copy of Bob Damron’s Address Book in a local gay bar that happened to be owned by a friend’s mom. She quickly assigned herself the task of learning the "hanky code." About the same time she discovered Drummer Magazine, and that was, as they say “all she wrote,” she was hooked. She was already out as a dyke, so her brain easily jumped to “somewhere there are women to do those naughty things with me.” So she flagged, everywhere.
Mistress Khiki traveled a lot with her mother and used the "address book" to try finding and gaining entry to those specially coded bars and clubs that were “leather and SM.” For several years, she wasn’t very successful. Then she found the Atlanta Eagle and a whole new chapter of her life began.
Her journey in the Leather community was aided almost entirely by gay men (and interestingly, her mom as well) and more specifically by Drummer boys. Yep, most of her mentoring was done by bottoms and boys. She considers herself incredibly lucky because they taught her a million and one lessons about being a Top, and even more about being a Master. She was taught how to behave and follow what she was told were "Old Guard" protocols for doing things; then the protocols themselves became a fetish for her, which probably explains why she loves “Old Guard” (ask her about that) and “Traditional Leather” so much.
Mistress Khiki was the first Ms. Atlanta Eagle, ’95-’96 (really, that’s what the sash says), Ms. Georgia Leather 1996, 1st Runner Up American Leather Woman 1997, recipient of a 2002 Jack Stice Community Service Award, International Master 1999, Producer, Mid-Atlantic Olympus Leather, and Chairperson of the Leather Heart Foundation (leatherheart.org).

Dirk has been active in the general BDSM community for decades, with a long-term focus on power dynamics. Like many, he discovered the lure of knots and restraints at an early age.
Sarah’s awakening stems from a similarly early discovery of a Penthouse spread on the “Story of O” among her father’s magazine collection. Much later, they met in the mid-90s and have been creating and refining their relationship dynamic ever since.
That relationship began as dominant/submissive – language more frequently encountered in the het community in the 1990s. They attended many BDSM events and presented numerous workshops on shibari and suspension bondage and other “technique”-based subjects. A milestone in their journey was attending the seminal 1999 Master-slave conference in Atlanta. There they discovered concepts that spoke to their passions, provided new energy and awareness, and gave them a language to explore the potential of their own relationship. MAsT 99 is also where they discovered this welcoming community, and the wealth of knowledge, experience, and commitment that resides here.
Since then, they have consciously evolved how they view their relationship, into one that is based on full time ownership, leather, and mastery and slavery. Dirk and sarah are grateful for the guidance and help they have received in their journeys from many masters and slaves in this community.
Dirk and sarah live an hour north of New York City, but are in the process of moving to the high desert outside Santa Fe, NM.
